Mastering the Grill: Q&A with John & John

What’s your go-to recipe for gathering friends and family around the grill?
Our favorite has to be a classic smoked brisket. It’s something we’ve perfected over the years, and it always brings everyone together for a great meal and great conversation.
What advice do you have for anyone just getting started with outdoor cooking?
Start simple and have fun! Don’t be afraid to make mistakes; it’s all part of the learning process. And most importantly, remember that grilling is all about the people you’re sharing the food with. That’s what makes it special.
What inspired you both to start grilling, and how did it become a family tradition?
Growing up, we were always around great food and family. It’s a tradition that started with John Sr.'s dad, Dawson, and now we’re carrying it on. Cooking together has always been our way of connecting, and it's something we love to share with others.
What’s the best part of grilling together as a father-son team?
The best part is definitely the bond it creates. Grilling gives us the opportunity to mentor and learn from each other. There’s nothing like sharing a great meal and passing down tips and techniques.
How has your faith influenced your approach to grilling and gathering?
Faith is at the core of everything we do. We believe that food and fellowship are ways to honor God and bring people together. Every meal we share is a reminder of His goodness and the importance of family.
