Smoked Out BBQ

Backyard Beginnings to Smoked Perfection

How a Passion for BBQ Sparked a Flavorful Journey

I started my love for BBQ around 2013 while grilling some ribs on my old Santa Maria style char-griller. After that I began experimenting with low and slow, and eventually began smoking meat. I loved the science behind controlling the heat, and watching the expressions on my friend’s and families faces when I served them with my dish.

Mastering the Grill: Q&A with Joey Garcia

What inspired you to start barbecuing, and how did you get started?
I bought a grill from Walmart and began experimenting with it. I started watching YouTube videos to learn different cooking methods and fell in love with the variety of flavors I could create on a grill.
How long have you been barbecuing?
I’ve been barbecuing for over a decade now, starting back in 2013.
What advice would you give to someone new to grilling?
Stay consistent. Not every cook will turn out the same, but with practice, you’ll find what works best for you.
Do you have any tips for someone new to creating BBQ content?
Consistency is key here too. Keep creating and sharing, even if every post isn’t perfect. Your passion and effort will show.
What is your favorite grilling technique and why?
Reverse searing steaks is my favorite. The flavor it produces is unmatched and elevates the dish every time.
