Instructions

    Start by making the marinade. Chop the pear, rough chop the onion, crush and peel the garlic, and peel and dice the ginger.

    Put all the chopped ingredients into a blender.

    Add the dark brown sugar, soy sauce, Mirin, and sesame seed oil to the blender.

    Add the water and blend everything until smooth.

    Marinate the short ribs by covering the bottom of a pan with the marinade.

    Lay the short ribs down in the pan.

    Pour the marinade in between the layers of ribs, ensuring they are well-coated.

    Cover the ribs with the remaining marinade.

    Let the ribs sit for 2 hours at room temperature, then transfer to the refrigerator and marinate for an additional 2 hours. Do not over-marinate.

    Set your grill to 600°F.

    Remove the ribs from the marinade and place them directly on the grill.
